DESCRIPTION:
The fishery consists of three very productive ponds covering a total of
approx 3 acres. The ponds are well stocked with carp to 30-lbs, bream to
7-lbs, tench to 7-lbs, roach to 2-lbs, rudd, chub etc. The ponds are
landscaped and have rushes & lily pads, there are 80 pegs in total,
Bankdam pond is available for matches.
TACTICS:
The ponds fish well whatever
the season, Bankdam early and late seasons are productive. Large carp are
doing well on pellets, sweetcorn and maggots, maggots are the main bait,
meat and hemp are also doing well, sprinkle a few freebies when casting.
Try fishing on the top in the summer.
RULES:
Barbless hooks only. No groundbait, trout pellets or keepnets. Must
use landing nets and disgorgers. Under 16's on front pond only and must be
accompanied.
TICKETS:
£5 day ticket, £3 juniors,
£4 OAP, £1 extra rod, £8.50 tent. Open dawn-till-dusk all year.
LOCATION:
From the A1237 York ring
road, take the Strensall turning off the roundabout. Follow signs into the
village, past the Half Moon pub on the left. Turn left after the Ship Inn
towards Sheriff Hutton. We are located 1/2 mile on the right hand side.
