DESCRIPTION:
Monk Lakes Limited is a 120 acre fishery on the A229 just outside
Maidstone in Kent, that encompasses all that is great about angling in the
UK. The site currently comprises of 2 Pleasure lakes, 4 Bookable Match
Lakes, a Carp & Catfish Specimen Lake and 2,000 metres of river bank
along the River Beult. In total over 45 acres of prime water for all
levels of anglers. With onsite parking and facilities including Ladies
and Gentlemen’s toilets on site as well as toilets for the disabled
located in the car park, In the summer some temporary toilets will be
dotted around the site for convenience. In our small shop you will find a
full selection of bait and tackle which includes red & white
maggots, many sizes of boilies, pellets, ground bait and flavored particle
ground bait, of course all the canned meats and more are also on tap; so
as far as bait is concerned we will always have what you need, we also
carry a comprehensive assortment of terminal tackle if you run out.
Jenny and staff run a snack
bar and offer a full selection of freshly cooked food together with all
kinds of hot and cold drinks, when you find that you are right in the
action or maybe its too far for you to walk Jenny and her team will make
an effort to deliver the food to where you are fishing.

Match Lake 1 Is a 3 acre, 44 Peg
Match Fishing Lake from bank platforms, Stocked with Carp, Barbel, Bream, Tench
& Chub.
Match Lake 2 Is a 4 acre, 44 Peg Match Fishing Lake from bank
platforms, Stocked with Carp, Barbel, Tench, Chub, Bream and Roach.
Match Lake 3 Is a 45 Peg Match Fishing Lake from bank
platforms, Stocked with Carp, Barbel, Tench, Chub, Bream and Roach.
Match Lake 4 Is a 1 acre, 29 Peg, weedy, multi island lake
for Carp only.
Specimen Lake (Mallard Lake) Is 5 acres, This lake has a contoured bottom with
deep holes and lily patches. Stocked
with Carp and Catfish to 40-lbs +.
Bridges Lake Is 16 acres, This lake is designed so every angler has
a feature to fish to in a natural planting of submerged and marginal water
plants. Reed and lily beds are just some of the features along with the 5
bridges to the islands. This lake has the float fisherman in mind. Stocked
with all native fish including Carp to 30-lbs +.
Puma Lake Is 10 acres, This lake has many deep holes, gravel bars
and underwater features to give a challenge to even an accomplished
angler. It is naturally planted and stocked with a full range of coarse
fish, with Carp up to 30-lbs.
River Beult 2,000 Metres, The river bank fishing with pools and
features contain really wild Tench, Roach and Bream. Weedy in summer but
offering good Pike fishing during the winter months.
TACTICS:
General tactics work an all
lakes, vary tactics for the particular species targeted, you can also call
the bailiff and ask what tactics are working now on a particular lake, or
maybe the river!
RULES:
No Keepnets or Carp Sacks
except in Matches, All Nets must be dipped before use, All Anglers must
have an unhooking mat except matches, Barbless Hooks ONLY, No Fixed leads,
No Juniors on Specimen Lake, No nuts or beans unless supplied by Monk
Lakes, In order to fish the specimen lake you must have the appropriate
equipment, A charge may be levied for non-anglers, Night fishing by prior
booking only, No refunds, No live bait or spinning, Must be in possession
of a Rod and Line Licence. PLEASE BE KIND ENOUGH TO USE THE BINS PROVIDED
FOR LINE AND LITTER.
TICKETS:
Adult Day Ticket: £9.50 for
1-rod, £13.50 for 2-rods, £17.50 for 3-rods, Adult 24hr Ticket: £25 for
3-rods. SPECIMEN LAKE: £25 Day Ticket, £35 per 24hrs.
Juniors, Disabled & OAPs £7 for 2-rods. (Matches by
Appointment, Weekend peg fee £7, Weekday peg fee £5)
