DESCRIPTION:
With 31 acres of mature surroundings, this fishery offers traditional
fishing at it's best, comprising of 4, superb lakes catering for the
pleasure, match and specimen angler, divided into 2 sites, each with it's
own entrance and parking. Wildmarsh site comprises at present of,
Wildmarsh Lake, 6 acres with 75 swims, stocked with carp-28lb, bream-11lb,
tench, chub, roach, rudd and barbel. Chandos Specimen Carp Lake is 3
acres, carp-30lb with 12 swims. Woodland Site, Woodland Lake is 2 acres
with 31 swims, ideal match or pleasure, carp-20lb, bream-6lb, tench-6lb,
chub, roach, perch-3.5lb. Hawthorn Pond was enlarged during 2005.
TACTICS:
Winter feeding, maggot over small amount
of ground bait at 10-12 metres, best method pole and waggler. Feeder
fishing, small ground bait feeder with maggot as hook bait. Scale down as
light as possible to 20-26 hook for best catches. Summer fishing, use
pellet, sweetcorn and meat for the bigger fish, fishing the margins or 10
metres out, best method pole or waggler.
RULES:
Barbless hooks only. No keepnets (except in
matches). for all other rules see notice board, specimen carp rules,
please ring.
TICKETS:
Tickets purchased on the bank, £5.00 one
rod, £7.50 two rods, £3.00 for juniors and disabled anglers, £4.50 two
rods. Specimen carp lake booking only, please ring for details.
LOCATION:
From the M5 take J23 then the A38 to
Bridgewater. Continue to the first set of traffic lights, turn right (the
Drove) follow the road to the next set of traffic lights and go across
these, then to the next set of lights, and turn right - signed Chilton
Trinity, continue to village. Follow the road past the old brick building,
take the first right (no through road) this is Straight Drove. First
entrance on right is Wildmarsh site: Third entrance on right is Woodland
Site. Non-Motorway traffic, follow signs for Bridgewater then local signs
for Chilton Trinity.
